Principal’s Message

Dear Parents and Students,

On behalf of the Panther Family and Community, it is truly a pleasure to welcome you as we begin the 2019 - 2020 school year at Americus-Sumter Ninth Grade Academy. This school year begins a new chapter in your life, as you transition from middle school to high school. It is with great honor that I serve as the principal of the 9th Grade Academy. The faculty, staff, and I are blessed that we embark on this journey together as it is the most critical year of high school which will begin our students’ Grade Point Average (GPA). Our mission is to assist all freshmen in making a smooth transition into high school, and in meeting the rigorous high school standards in order to graduate all students.

Our staff is going to be persistent in creating an excellent school climate, as we are dedicated to provide the best education for your child.   To help ensure the success of this new year, it is imperative that the parents and students understand important school policies and procedures, as well as academic and behavioral expectations. Parents and students should read the “Student Handbook” carefully as policies and procedures will be enforced in order to provide a safe, orderly, and productive learning environment. You will find information about the curriculum, attendance expectations, extracurricular activities, and the student code of conduct. Students are responsible for understanding the guidelines that are provided.   They are reminded that “Success, Nothing Less” is what we are striving for this year!!

I am excited about the upcoming school year and I look forward to working with each of you. I want to encourage all students to get involved in an activity, team, club, or program at our school. Please communicate with the teachers throughout the school year to ensure it is a successful beginning to high school.   Let’s work together!   We are here to assist you in being the best that you can be!

Go Panthers!!
